About The Position

The Lab Technician I performs routine analytical procedures on pure and mixed gases, utilizing or adapting standard methods of procedure. This role involves running mixture calculations for routine mixtures and potentially creating specialty gas mixtures according to customer specifications. The technician may also generate certificates of analysis for pure products and mixtures, and tests cylinders for safety, filling them to required specifications. Additionally, the role includes coordinating electronic analytical tests to ensure gas mixtures meet customer requirements and assisting with the evaluation of medical gases for FDA compliance before release. The technician is responsible for setting up and calibrating testing equipment, maintaining a neat and orderly lab environment, and performing routine maintenance on instruments, scales, and pumps. Data is maintained both in hard copy and electronically, and effective interaction with other work groups is expected. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED is required
2+ years’ experience working in industrial lab environment

Nice To Haves

Associates Degree preferred
Industrial/Specialty Gas is preferred

Responsibilities

Perform routine analytical procedures on pure and mixed gases.
Utilize or adapt standard methods of procedure.
Run mixture calculations for routine mixtures.

Test cylinders for safety and fill cylinders to required specifications.

Assist with the evaluation of medical gases for FDA compliance before releasing for delivery to customers.
Set up and calibrate testing equipment to required standards.
Ensure lab is maintained in a neat, clean and orderly condition.
Perform routine maintenance on instruments, scales and pumps.
Maintain data both via hard copies and electronically.
Interact effectively with other work groups.
Perform other duties as assigned.
