About The Position

This position is responsible for carefully and accurately performing validation and conformance testing, per customer or regulatory test specifications. The role understands and makes reports with photos, explaining the requirements and results. The incumbent is responsible for the awareness, understanding, specific responsibilities and management of the Environmental Management System (EMS) as stated in EMS Policy CEVPL.00005. The incumbent is responsible for the awareness, understanding, specific responsibilities and management of the Quality Management System (QMS) as stated in CQAM.00001 – Corporate Quality Manual.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least two years experience in a manufacturing setting
  • Familiarity with the following computer programs: Excel, Word, Power Point, and email
  • Ability to read, interpret, and execute tests according to customer and regulatory requirements
  • Maintains a positive and cooperative attitude throughout workday
  • Discusses work-place issues with supervisors, managers, and co-workers in a respectful manner looking for positive solutions
  • Communicates any issues relating to the job with the previous/next shift

Responsibilities

  • Utilizing and training others on laboratory equipment use, calibration, maintenance and breakdowns
  • Programming the chambers and determine the correct software to accurately find glitch detection of samples in test
  • Creating work instructions and utilize document tracking software to complete periodic reviews
  • Programming chambers corresponding with sequences to conform to required test specifications
  • Maintaining, calibrating (internal and/or outsourcing) and use of all lab machinery and equipment
  • Completing all maintenance and repairs (internal and/or outsourcing) for chambers, light lab (goniometer, vertical photometer, wire harnesses, breakdowns, etc.)
  • Completing all maintenance and repairs (internal and/or outsourcing) for all environmental, vibration and photometric fixtures
  • Completing calibrations in lab and light lab, including plant items that need to be completed by an outsourced provider (Masters for cal. Equipment CCM machine, etc.)
  • Calibrating certified bulbs from the sphere system for light lab testing
  • Assisting with fixture design for upcoming programs
  • Developing and fabricating setups for new testing (fixturing and jigs)
  • Assisting manufacturing engineers, quality engineers, preventative maintenance, setup techs, and quality techs with verification of suspect product
  • Performing the majority of PV, DV, ED, and PPAP testing
  • Using band saws, sander buffing wheel, drill press, and other machines to prepare or inspect product
  • Using a microscope to take photos for quality and engineering department needs
  • Reading, interpreting and executing tests according to customer and regulatory demands
  • Completing all work in a safe and environmentally conscious way
  • Following ISO14001 guidelines as they relate to specific job activity
  • Occasional cleaning (windows, equipment, floors), as needed
  • Utilizing Excel, Word, Power Point, Email, and various lab related systems
