About The Position

Responsible for collecting, processing, and performing testing of patient specimens. Supports and communicates Laboratory initiatives and philosophies. Performs routine waived, moderately, and high complex testing. Collects, Processes and Receives specimens (including blood, urine, fecal, body fluid) to be analyzed in all departments of the clinical laboratory. Evaluates and solves problems related to collection and processing of biological specimens of analysis of all age ranges. Prepares samples for testing and sends them out to reference laboratories. Maintains laboratory equipment and stocks supplies. Performs complex laboratory procedures; recognizes deviation from expected results; analyzes and corrects problems using scientific principles under direct supervision per CLIA requirements. Analyzes quality control data, makes judgments concerning results and takes appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision. Assists in troubleshooting and instrument maintenance. Participates in training programs and accreditation activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or Associates Degree for grandfathered personnel)
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Technical Experience: 1 year in a lab setting preferred.
