Performs waived and up to moderate complexity testing on manual, automated, semi-automated platforms, processes specimens and specimen setup per department policy and procedure, and assists Clinical Lab Scientist (CLS), Histology Tech (HT), and Cytotechnologist (CT) with daily operation; performs instrument maintenance, quality control and troubleshooting; performs Laboratory Assistant function, and shares skills intra-departmentally. Education: Required: High school diploma, GED or higher degree Preferred: Associate’s degree in science in related field Licensure/Certification: N/A Experience: Required: One (1) year of relevant work experience in a laboratory or hospital or associate’s degree in related field or higher in lieu of experience if hired after January 1, 2023 Preferred: Anatomic pathology laboratory experience Reports To: Supervisor Supervises: N/A Ages of Patients: Neonate/Infant, Pediatric, Adolescent, Adult, Geriatric Blood Borne Pathogens: High Potential Skills, Knowledge, Abilities: Ability to learn complex tasks, Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently to meet deadlines, Fine motor skills, Mathematical and reasoning skills, Written and verbal communication skills
