About The Position

This role involves processing and performing diagnostic tests on various biological samples using advanced laboratory equipment. The Lab Tech 1 will be responsible for setting up and running tests, releasing results, performing analyzer maintenance, and managing sample accessioning and tracking. The position also requires adherence to quality control standards, EHS practices, and regulatory guidelines for handling medical and biohazardous waste. Additionally, the role includes troubleshooting sample integrity, responding to customer concerns, maintaining a clean workspace, and managing email correspondence. A positive attitude and teamwork are essential.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 1+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Team-oriented with excellent collaboration skills
  • Robust organizational and time management abilities
  • Excellent data entry skills
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
  • Fluency in English language
  • Able to sit and stand for long periods of time
  • Able to lift up to 50lbs

Responsibilities

  • Process and perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal or histology samples using high-throughput automated analyzers, microscopes, and other diagnostic equipment.
  • Set up and run lab tests, read, and release results according to ZRL SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • Perform analyzer maintenance including daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance.
  • Accession samples and manage specimen tracking storage, including packaging and unpacking samples for shipments to other laboratories.
  • Follow QC standards and EHS practices consistent with laboratory standards.
  • Troubleshoot sample integrity issues and respond to customer concerns through Salesforce ticketing with the customer service department.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Properly handle and dispose of medical and biohazardous waste while adhering to all applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Consistently and properly fill out laboratory logs, including maintenance logs, environmental logs, and cleaning logs.
  • Manage email correspondence professionally and promptly.
  • Be a team player and have a positive attitude.
