About The Position

The Lab Tech 1 will be responsible for processing and performing diagnostic tests on various samples using automated analyzers, microscopes, and other diagnostic equipment. This role involves setting up and running lab tests, releasing results according to SOPs, and performing routine analyzer maintenance. The position also includes accessioning samples, specimen tracking, storage, and managing shipments. Adherence to QC standards, EHS practices, and proper waste disposal are critical. The role requires troubleshooting sample integrity issues, responding to customer concerns, maintaining a clean workspace, and managing email correspondence. A positive attitude and teamwork are essential.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
• Strong attention to detail
• Team-oriented with excellent collaboration skills
• Robust organizational and time management abilities
• Excellent data entry skills
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to complete tasks with minimal supervision
• Fluency in English language

Nice To Haves

• BS/BA is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process and perform diagnostic tests on blood, urine, fecal or histology samples using high-throughput automated analyzers, microscopes, and other diagnostic equipment.
• Set up and run lab tests, read, and release results according to ZRL SOPs.
• Perform analyzer maintenance including daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance.
• Accession samples and perform specimen tracking, storage, and packaging/unpackaging for shipments.
• Follow QC standards and EHS practices.
• Troubleshoot sample integrity issues and respond to customer concerns through Salesforce ticketing.
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Properly handle and dispose of medical and biohazardous waste.
• Fill out laboratory logs, including maintenance, environmental, and cleaning logs.
• Manage email correspondence professionally and promptly.
• Be a team player and have a positive attitude.
