About The Position

Wheeler Machinery in Salt Lake City is hiring a full-time Lab Tech 1. This role is responsible for intaking and registering samples, performing assigned daily tasks, and supporting the analysis and recommendations provided to customers. The Lab Tech 1 plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our testing processes.

Experience with or willing to learn laboratory procedures and equipment.
High School diploma or equivalent.
Able to stand at workstations for extended periods

Responsibilities

Retrieves mail and shipments of samples.
Collect lab samples from shop, shipping, and parts locations across the campus.
Sort and register samples into electronic systems to track corresponding lab data.
Perform laboratory tests and procedures under the supervision of senior lab staff.
Adhere to compliance, safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment.
Perform daily cleaning of all work areas and instruments.
Ensure the safe disposal of lab samples and products.
Develop the ability to safely run the following equipment, perform the following tests: Diluter, Viscometer, TBN, TAN, Waters, Coolants, and other tests as assigned.
Analyze samples according to established protocols.
Performs other duties as assigned.
