About The Position

Do you have a passion for healthcare and a heart of service? Look no further than Saint Luke's! This PRN position requires some experience and involves collecting patient samples using best practices for phlebotomy. The role includes documenting receipt of patient samples in the Lab Information System (LIS) and preparing them for analysis. You will collect patient specimens in accordance with the laboratory's policy, procedures, and regulatory standards. Additionally, you will correlate patient samples to provider laboratory test orders in the LIS/EMR, perform and report Point of Care laboratory testing as required, and use your education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection. Effective communication with nursing and unit staff to relay information concerning patient collections is essential.

Responsibilities

Collects patient samples using best practices for phlebotomy.
