About The Position

Saint Luke's is seeking a full-time day shift Lab Support Tech to join our team. This role involves collecting patient samples using best practices for phlebotomy, documenting receipt of patient samples in the Lab Information System (LIS), and preparing them for analysis. The position is full-time, day shift, Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM, with no weekends. Collections will be performed at the Bishop Spencer Place nursing home. Experience in a lab setting and with phlebotomy is highly preferred. The technician will collect patient specimens in accordance with laboratory policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. They will correlate patient samples to provider laboratory test orders in the LIS/EMR, perform and report Point of Care laboratory testing as required, and use their education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection. Effective communication with nursing and unit staff regarding patient collections is essential.

Requirements

• Less than 1 year of applicable experience.
• Experience in lab and phlebotomy highly preferred.
