Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions, is seeking a Lab Support Technician to join our Softlines team in the Footwear testing laboratory in Bentonville, AR. This role offers a career opportunity in footwear and consumer products testing. Intertek's Softlines Testing services assist retailers, brands, and manufacturers of textiles, apparel, fashion accessories, footwear, and home textiles in ensuring product safety and quality. We test a wide range of items, from fabric samples to finished products like apparel and footwear for all ages, as well as home furnishings. Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Microsoft Office experience, including Word, Excel and Outlook.
  • Must be a team player with a “can do” attitude.
  • Possess a valid unrestricted driver’s license and the ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 49 pounds.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to utilize basic shop equipment and hand tools.

  • Be aware of, and adhere to, safety practices and policies.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment with shifting priorities and demanding deadlines.

Responsibilities

  • Receive samples at the laboratory delivered by carrier or customer or picked up from stores.
  • Capture as-received photos and create inward records for samples in the LIMS.
  • Organize and save information and documents pertaining to incoming samples in the shared network drive/internal tracker.
  • Move samples and packages within the laboratory.
  • Prepare test specimens by cutting, drilling, pressing, buffing, or using other hand tools.
  • Collect tested and remnant samples from the laboratory and store them in the warehouse.
  • Return samples, which includes sample collection, packaging, and shipping through carriers as required.
  • Dispose of samples after the storage period according to standard processes.
  • Support the general maintenance and verification schedule of lab equipment and facilities.
  • Maintain general cleanliness and upkeep of the laboratory.
  • Carry out responsibilities in a manner demonstrating support for and adherence to the Company’s Safety Policy and Procedures, Quality Policy and Procedures, Ethics Policy, Environmental Management System, Vision and Strategy.
  • Exercise good judgment, common sense, and diplomacy.
  • Perform other duties as required.
