Saint Luke's South Hospital is seeking a part-time Lab Support Tech to join our team! This role involves collecting patient samples using best practices for phlebotomy, documenting receipt of patient samples in the Lab Information System (LIS), and preparing them for analysis. The position is part-time, requiring two twelve-hour shifts per week, from 0600 to 1830 on Thursdays and Fridays. Opportunities to pick up extra hours are available due to PTO requests, call-ins, etc. The technician will collect patient specimens in accordance with laboratory policy, procedures, and regulatory standards. They will correlate patient samples to provider laboratory test orders in the LIS/EMR, perform and report Point of Care laboratory testing as required, and use education and experience to identify and resolve patient circumstances that might interfere with accurate sample collection. Effective communication with nursing and unit staff regarding patient collections is also a key responsibility.
