About The Position
The Laboratory Support Technician supports the clinical laboratory through proper phlebotomy techniques, specimen accessioning and processing, instrument maintenance and laboratory testing as trained and authorized as well as other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School, GED or formal educational equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Previous laboratory or phlebotomy experience
- Experience with LIS Systems
- Certification in phlebotomy
Responsibilities
- Receive, label, log, and process laboratory specimens accurately.
- Prepare samples for testing and transport to appropriate laboratory departments.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
- Operate basic laboratory equipment and ensure proper maintenance and cleanliness.
- Monitor laboratory supplies and assist with inventory management.
- Follow established laboratory safety procedures, infection control protocols, and quality assurance guidelines.
- Assist laboratory staff with routine support tasks and workflow coordination.
- Dispose of biological and chemical waste according to safety regulations.
- Maintain clean and organized work areas within the laboratory.
- Perform other duties as needed.
