About The Position
Iberia Medical Center is hiring a Lab Supervisor for its North Campus in New Iberia, Louisiana. The supervisor applies clinical laboratory science principles, theories, and techniques to produce reliable results that support physicians in diagnosing and treating patients. The role maintains proficiency in manual and automated moderate- and high-complexity testing across all laboratory sections. The Lab Supervisor works efficiently without supervision, exercises independent judgment, uses the Laboratory Information System proficiently, and complies with regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology, Microbiology, Chemistry, or Biological Science.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist by ASCP or NCA.
- Current Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners (LSBME) license as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist – Generalist.
- Twelve-month internship through a School of Medical Technology or previous MLT training.
- Two years of experience as a Medical Technologist.
Responsibilities
- Apply clinical laboratory science principles, theories, and techniques to produce reliable results for patient diagnosis and treatment.
- Maintain skills in manual and automated moderate- and high-complexity testing in all laboratory sections.
- Work efficiently without supervision and exercise independent judgment.
- Use the Laboratory Information System proficiently and meet computer-skill requirements.
- Abide by applicable regulatory requirements.
