About The Position
Quest Diagnostics is seeking an experienced Lab Supervisor to lead a team of approximately 25 laboratory professionals. This is a hands-on leadership role where you will guide your team, oversee quality across the assigned health system, and serve as a trusted resource for physicians and clients. You will bring deep technical knowledge to coaching, problem-solving, and quality oversight.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in science field of study
- 4+ years of clinical laboratory experience
- ASCP Certification
- New York State License
- Specialized knowledge of electrophoresis and ANA testing, with the ability to speak the technical language fluently
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer-service skills
Responsibilities
- Directly supervise approximately 25 staff, including scheduling, daily huddles, and ongoing staff development
- Coach, mentor, and grow your team, building a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement
- Stay visible and engaged on the floor, supporting staff through day-to-day operations
- Serve as the first line of quality assurance oversight for the department
- Oversee quality control of automated processes
- Ensure proper maintenance and performance of laboratory equipment and instrumentation (analytical phase)
- Apply specialized expertise in areas such as electrophoresis and ANA platforms to troubleshoot issues and guide technical decisions
- Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for physicians and clients on results and inquiries (post-analytical phase)
- Communicate complex technical information professionally, clearly, and with confidence
- Consistently meet and exceed customer expectations
