Lab Specialist, Ma Lab - Surgery
About The Position
The Department of Surgery at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine seeks applicants for a Laboratory Specialist to become a participating member of the Jianje Ma laboratories. The individual will participate in research projects focused on cell physiology, regenerative medicine, and Alzheimer’s disease. Strong communication and organizational skills are required, including the ability to coordinate experimental studies and analyze bioinformatic datasets. Prior research experience in protein biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, neuroscience, or related fields is highly desirable. The candidate will work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary research team within the Department of Surgery at the University of Virginia School of Medicine.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least 1 year of experience in a lab setting.
- Strong communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
Nice To Haves
- Prior research experience in protein biochemistry, molecular and cellular biology, neuroscience, or related fields.
