The Whitlock lab in the Department of Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics at the University of Virginia School of Medicine is seeking a senior scientist to join our team. The Whitlock Lab studies bone/skeletal metabolism and the formation and function of multinucleated osteoclasts. The Lab Specialist will work closely with the PI and other lab members to complete mouse model, cell biological, and biochemical experiments in support our ongoing, long-term research projects aimed at resolving how osteoclasts form and how their dysfunction leads to the development of pediatric and geriatric skeletal diseases. The candidate will be expected to independently manage our mouse colonies, perform and execute successful in vivo experiments, and to perform routine lab ordering and organization.
