About The Position

This is a part-time, non-benefited position. Only UND students are eligible to be hired in this position. The Paleontology Undergraduate Research Assistant will assist Dr. Ullmann and his doctoral candidate with the subsampling of modern, naturally-weathered caribou antler bone samples for three types of geochemical and molecular biology analyses. Help image the specimens and process and interpret the resulting mass spectrometry data to determine how the bone samples were geochemically altered in their early stages of decay.

Requirements

  • Applicants should be undergraduates enrolled in-person in Geology or Geological Engineering as a portion of their degree, either as a major or minor.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal History Background Check.
  • In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the US and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.
  • This position does not support visa sponsorship for continued employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Excel would be considered advantageous.
