About The Position

This role involves providing hands-on assistance to support the operation and goals of the laboratory by planning and conducting experiments and applying understanding to analyze results. With guidance, the individual will plan and implement assigned projects. The position performs a range of analyses, prepares and maintains standard equipment and chemicals, supports laboratory activities ensuring compliance with internal and external standards, and captures and reports data with technical rigor and accuracy. The role requires maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe working environment and proficiency in generic and specific software packages. The primary responsibilities include assisting in the maintenance of all Compliance, Sanitation, and Process Quality Programs and Schedules for the Gladstone facility and supporting daily operations to conform to corporate and local Quality Policies and SOPs.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a range of analyses.
  • Prepare and maintain standard equipment and chemicals required for running of an analytical laboratory.
  • Support laboratory activities while ensuring compliance to the appropriate internal and external standards.
  • Capture and report data with technical rigor and accuracy.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working environment.
  • Assist in the maintenance of all Compliance, Sanitation and Process Quality Programs and Schedules for the Gladstone facility.
  • Support the daily operations to conform to corporate and local Quality Policies and SOPs.
  • Ensure food safety and quality programs that ensure quality compliance of raw and packaging materials, WIP as well as the environmental and production related monitoring programs such as CTQs and CTPs.
  • Manage the compliance of Quality Policies including Pathogen environmental monitoring (PEM and Non-PEM), Water programs, Testing controls & Calibration, CoA verification, Finished product pathogen testing, and Hold and release (ingredients) Incoming Receiving of Materials.
  • Manage 1 Quality Specialist- Lab.
  • Request local spec exceptions to fulfill the Quality Policy for OOS raw materials, trials and FPAs.
  • Support the change management process for formulation recipes and the traceability program, sensory program, Kosher management, Rainforest Alliance among others.
  • Own the Standard Work Process of Supplier Quality that is part of the QM pillar.
  • Own the relationship with Suppliers, Lab and other external stakeholders who support Gladstone plant.
  • Support competency training for quality and food safety requirements according to schedule while working with the E&T lead.
  • Assist in the Change Control program leading the cross functional team approval, creating and revising SOPs/WI/ QPs and updating applicable programs.
  • Support in the management of non-conforming materials ensuring that they are properly controlled, identified and dispositioned appropriately.
  • Work safely and diligently to avoid hazards in the workplace and department.
  • Prioritize work to be most efficient and effective.
  • Perform duties independently and proactively.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the Quality Manager.
