About The Position

The Lab Quality Control Technician is responsible for obtaining samples of materials from the Mixing Department and testing those samples for quality parameters. This role involves operating lab equipment, calibrating it, recording data accurately, and investigating and solving problems related to physical properties, cure rate, gravity, color, and thickness. The technician will also maintain various lab processes such as color master processes, cataloging, storing, cross-referencing color matching samples, and performing quality checks. A safe and clean work area must be maintained, and other duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Adequate math skills.
  • Ability to pass company entrance test.

Responsibilities

  • Obtain samples of materials from the Mixing Department and test them for quality parameters.
  • Operate lab equipment to test quality parameters including thickness, color, gravity, and cure.
  • Calibrate lab equipment before the beginning of each shift.
  • Manually record data accurately to ensure correct reports.
  • Maintain rubber within specified ranges and retest reclaimed rubber.
  • Test, investigate, and find solutions to correct problems in physical properties, cure rate, gravity, color, and thickness.
  • Maintain lab processes such as color master processes, cataloging, storing, and cross-referencing color matching samples.
  • Perform quality checks.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
