Lab Operations Technician

Gritt Robotics IncBelmont, CA
Onsite

About The Position

Gritt Robotics is building general-purpose intelligence for the physical world — robots that can work in the unstructured, unpredictable conditions of real construction sites. Our mission is to help civilization build infrastructure faster, and we do it by creating intelligence that generalizes across the messy environments where most automation breaks down. We work with heavy industrial robots, dense camera and LiDAR sensor arrays, and the kind of hardware that needs to be treated with care and precision. Our lab is where the frontier work happens, and it only works when the space itself is in top shape. We're looking for a full-time Lab & Shop Technician to own the cleanliness, organization, and physical readiness of our lab. This is a hands-on role for someone meticulous and technically capable — a person who keeps the space pristine, the equipment staged and working, and the whole environment ready for serious engineering at all times. We already have technical and operations talent on the team; what we need is a dedicated person who takes pride in the environment itself and can keep our tools and machines in good working order. This role can be full-time on-site, and is a strong fit for someone who wants exposure to one of the most exciting robotics companies pushing the boundaries of outdoor, real-world autonomy.

Requirements

  • Someone who takes genuine ownership and pride in a well-kept space
  • High attention to detail and a strong sense of order
  • Comfortable in a hands-on, industrial, hardware-heavy environment, including lifting up to 50 lbs, etc
  • Valid forklift certification, or willingness to obtain one — we'll provide training
  • Reliable, proactive, and self-directed
  • A "no task is beneath me" mindset — at Gritt, founders take out the trash, and we expect everyone to pitch in wherever it's needed

Nice To Haves

  • Managing 3D print queues and maintenance
  • Maintaining machine shop equipment

Responsibilities

  • Keep the lab clean, organized, and in pristine condition day to day, including floor care and common areas
  • Arrange and maintain workstations, staging areas, and equipment zones so engineers can move fast
  • Care for and properly stage sensitive hardware — robots, cameras, LiDAR units, tools, and components
  • Manage organization and basic inventory of tools, parts, and supplies
  • Maintain machine shop equipment and keep it in good working order
  • Run and manage 3D print queues, keeping printers stocked, calibrated, and producing
  • Maintain order and safety around heavy equipment and active work areas
  • Spot what needs attention before anyone asks, and handle it
