About The Position

The Lab Manager, Research Institute at Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, OH, will oversee the daily operations, research activities, and compliance of the Laboratory of Vascular & Matrix Genetics (LVMG). This role ensures smooth lab function, maintains high research quality and safety standards, and supports the Principal Investigator (PI) in advancing scientific aims. The Lab Manager will supervise technical staff, manage resources, lead independent projects, and provide training and mentorship to new lab members, while also managing lab operations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s in Bio Sci, Biochemical, or Med Technology.
• 3 yrs professional experience.
• 3 yrs experience with lab ops mgmt.
• 3 yrs experience with molecular biology workflow.
• 3 yrs experience with histology, IHC, IF, & imaging techniques (e.g., brightfield, fluorescence, confocal).
• 3 yrs experience performing data analysis, creating publication-ready figures using BioRender & presenting results.
• 3 yrs experience using statistical software.
• 2 yrs experience managing large mouse colonies.
• 1 yr experience with cell culture workflow.
• 1 yr experience performing in vivo procedures including tissue collection, multi-route injections, & behavioral & metabolic phenotyping.
• 1 yr experience with image processing using advanced platforms (Prism, R, & ImageJ/Fiji).
• 1 yr experience working in clinical trials.
• 6 months experience performing sequencing data analysis.
• 6 months experience working on a multi-disciplinary research team in matrix/elastin biology.
