About The Position

The Development of Social Cognition Lab and the Developmental Investigations of Behavior & Strategy (DIBS) Laboratory are hiring a Lab Manager to manage their developmental psychology research programs, including their virtual kids' testing lab, Social Kids Lab Online. Research topics focus on the development of social cognition and moral reasoning in childhood. The job provides technical support activities related to scientific research projects. Ensures compliance of research activities with institutional, state, and federal regulatory policies, procedures, directives and mandates. Assists in drafting presentations on research findings.

Requirements

  • Minimum requirements include vocational training, apprenticeships or the equivalent experience in related field (not typically required to have a four-year degree).
  • Minimum requirements include knowledge and skills developed through 2-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline.

Nice To Haves

  • BA in Psychology or a related field.
  • Relevant research experience.

Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple parts of the research projects, including supporting the research of a diverse group of graduate student, postdoctoral and undergraduate researchers.
  • Stimuli preparation and experimental design.
  • Interface with family, museum, and school partners.
  • Perform editorial and copy-editing functions as needed.
  • Assists with the installation, sets up and performs experiments; interacting with students and other laboratory staff under the direction of the principal investigator.
  • Manage and extending our online database for testing participants.
  • Outreach, communication, and public facing aspects of the lab’s work to parents, educators, and broader audiences.
  • Manage grant activities and aiding with the development grant proposals.
  • Provides technical and administrative support for a research project.
  • Collects and enters data.
  • Assists in analyzing data.
  • Assists with preparation of reports, manuscripts and other documents.
  • Performs other related work as needed.
