About The Position
Based on broad guidance by the Process Engineering team and information gathered during daily production meetings, oversee the day-to-day work in the Quality Assurance Laboratory. Monitor processes and ensure that laboratory equipment is functioning correctly.
Requirements
- Bachelor's level degree with heavy emphasis in Chemistry
- Up to 3 years of supervisory experience
- Up to 10 years of experience with wet chemistry lab processes and analytical instrumentation including X-Ray spectrometer and diffraction
- Authorization to work in the United States
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret information.
- Ability to write reports and basics business correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, managers, clients, customers and the general public.
- TWIC (Transportation Worker Identification Credential) required prior to offer acceptance
- MSHA (Mine Safety and Health Administration) training to be completed upon hire.

Responsibilities
- Train, monitor and report on hourly lab worker’s performance to safety and lab policies/procedures.
- Repair, maintain, and calibrate lab equipment to accepted QA standards.
- Prepare certificate of analysis for all product shipments out of the Atalco Alumina facility.
- Develop, maintain and report monthly on Safety, Environmental and Quality performance of the lab.
