About The Position

Manage chemistry Lab. Prompt analysis of raw materials. Partner with manufacturing, purchasing, and quality control to develop new analytical techniques.

Requirements

• A Bachelors degree (preferably in Chemistry, physical science or engineering)from a college or university
• Previous work experience in Special Metals
• Previous supervisory experience required
• Theoretical and practical knowledge and experience in analytical spectrochemical methods for metals
• Understanding and knowledge of analytical chemistry and quality systems
• Proficient in Microsoft Applications

Responsibilities

• Develop and refine methods for the routine analysis of raw materials and finished products
• Assume responsibility for the calibration, operation, and maintenance of all laboratory instruments and equipment.
• Develop and maintain a library of certified reference materials when such materials exist; develop a library of secondary reference materials when certified reference materials do not exist
• Implements Management of Change (MOC) and Manufacturing Process Experiments (MPE)
• Supervises and coordinates the activities of the lab staff to ensure assignments are completed in a timely manner; communicates and enforces various policies, procedures, and requirements
• Partners with supplier base to develop continual improvement/cost reduction opportunities; develops and maintains various processes related to cost reduction, product development, and continuous improvement
