About The Position

This position is for a Lab Instructor in the Sonography Program at Thomas Jefferson University. The role involves instructing and evaluating student performance in the laboratory component of the program, providing individual assistance and counseling to students, and maintaining student laboratory records. The instructor will also enforce program rules and regulations, communicate student progress to the Clinical Coordinator and/or Program Director, and maintain a positive professional attitude. Input on course design and development is also expected. The instructor will direct laboratory/clinical sessions related to imaging sciences theory and collaborate with other professionals for practical experience. The role requires submitting final grades by the due date and performing other related duties as needed.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree and/or 2 years clinical experience in related field
  • Valid ARDMS (copy of current certification to be sent into Chair’s office)

Responsibilities

  • Instructs and evaluates student’s performance in the laboratory component of the Sonography Program.
  • Assist students on an individual level when needed.
  • Counsel’s students on their laboratory progress when needed.
  • Assists in maintaining student laboratory records.
  • Enforces rules and regulations of Sonography Program.
  • Meets regularly with the Clinical Coordinator and/or Program Director to communicate student progress, strengths and weaknesses.
  • Offers a positive professional attitude toward students and the teaching process.
  • Offer input on course design, development, revision and implementation.
  • Direct laboratory/clinical sessions in the performance aspects of the related theory of imaging sciences.
  • Collaborate with other professional personnel for the practical experience phases of training.
  • Submit final grades to Primary Lab Instructor by due date.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
