About The Position

The Laboratory Generalist III receives and prepares samples for laboratory analysis and tests, sets up instruments, runs tests and reads, interprets, and releases results. This role requires proficiency in at least three clinical areas including Hematology. The individual will perform and analyze results for Total Parasite PCR panels and other non-PCR tests, process and prepare samples for send-out, and perform all required quality control per QA guidelines. Training will be provided in Specimen Processing, Chemistry, Serology, UA, Coag, and Parasitology according to SOPs. Responsibilities include overseeing the entering and releasing of results, performing tests such as Chemistry –Olympus, T4-Olympus, CBC-Advia, Progesterone, PT, PTT, Platelet count, Reticulocytes, UA and Parasitology PCR, and building hematology and UA loads. The role also involves participating in departmental training programs, reconciling pending lists, and potentially participating in enterprise initiatives, special projects, and other assigned duties. Associates are expected to conduct themselves in an ethical manner and hold each other accountable to the organization's values and standards, asking questions, seeking guidance, and reporting concerns or violations.

Requirements

  • Proficient in at least three clinical areas including Hematology.
  • Associates/Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Technology or Degree in a related field with a minimum of 1 year clinical laboratory experience in Hematology.

  • The ability to communicate information so others will understand.
  • Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Personal computer skills, strong typing ability, and knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency in the English language which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written directions.

  • Degree or experience in Molecular Biology preferred.

  • Responsible for building hematology and UA loads.
  • Participate in all departmental training programs.
  • Reconcile pending list.
  • May be asked to participate in enterprise initiatives, special projects, and other duties as assigned.
