About The Position
This job advertisement is to fill an existing vacancy for a Lab Demonstrator for BIOL 3P28 in the Fall D2-3 term. The position is part of CUPE4207-1 (Employee Group). Compensation is based on qualifications, with an undergraduate rate of $22.07 per hour and a graduate rate of $34.73 per hour (effective September 1, 2024). The nominal workload is 10 hours per week, including 6 hours of demonstrating and 4 hours of marking and lab preparation. Requirements
- MSc or currently enrolled in a graduate program in Biological Sciences.
- Completed BIOL 3P28 or an equivalent course.
- Applicants are responsible for submitting their seniority date with their application. Applicants that don't include a seniority date will be assumed not to have one.
Responsibilities
- Under the direction of the Senior Lab Instructor, the incumbent is required to be familiar with laboratory procedures.
- Present an introduction to the lab.
- Demonstrate laboratory techniques.
- Teach and assist students during the lab.
- Maintain safe lab conditions.
- Be responsible for lab preparation and cleanup.
- Mark lab reports.
- Attend meetings as needed.
