As a Lab Chemist, you’ll play a vital role supporting safe and compliant hazardous waste operations by performing routine laboratory testing and analysis. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required
Previous laboratory and bench chemistry experience preferred
Ability to perform hands-on analytical testing and work safely in a fast-paced laboratory environment.
Willingness to work in an industrial setting with some outdoor exposure and handle hazardous and non-hazardous materials while utilizing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
Ability to wear a respirator and other required PPE as needed.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or a related scientific field preferred.

Responsibilities

Follow all regulations, standards, and internal policies to ensure Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) compliance and promote a safe and environmentally responsible workplace.
Ensure compliance with all applicable EPA testing methods and requirements.
Conduct all analytical testing, including pH, moisture content, oxidation, and titration.
Process waste samples daily, including but not limited to fuel compatibility, bomb calorimetry, GC analysis, and metals analysis.
Perform daily calibration of laboratory equipment such as calorimeters, pH meters, GC-MS, and GC-FID.
Provide expertise in instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair as needed.
Provide additional support in standards preparation, record-keeping, and other general laboratory duties as assigned.
Properly dispose of laboratory-generated wastes.
Maintain adequate laboratory supplies.
Keep the laboratory area clean, safe, and well-organized.
