About The Position
Provides technical support to the lab by receiving/processing requisitions/specimens and ordering specified lab tests according to standard operating procedures. Responds to phone requests and enters lab test data into computer.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED required
- Previous work experience strongly preferred
- Keyboarding experience, 40 wpm preferred
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, customer service oriented environment
- Ability to prioritize and change tasks frequently and quickly
- Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient information
- Able to work in a high stress environment with little/no downtime
- Able to work in a team setting
- Absolute integrity and accuracy in patient identification process
Nice To Haves
- Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 semester hours of chemistry and 6 semester hours of biology preferred
- MLA certification from a nationally recognized credentialing agency (i.e. ASCP or AMT) preferred
