Lab Associate (Temp)
About The Position
The Laboratory Associate plays an instrumental role in ensuring product quality standards are met. This role performs routine laboratory functions, including transporting samples from various worksites to the laboratory, supporting laboratory testing, recording test data, maintaining lab equipment and inventory, and following safety procedures. The associate may occasionally assist Quality Technicians on the production line as needed. The position is temporary and full-time, with work hours from 9:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Proper PPE is required. The pay range is $18.00–$20.00 per hour. GT’s Living Foods is a family-owned and operated company that produces handcrafted, raw, organic kombucha.
Requirements
- 0–6 months of laboratory experience or equivalent relevant education.
- Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance, and ability to drive a motor vehicle for local travel.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficient computer skills, including MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, verbally and in writing.
- Ability to collaborate and prioritize team success.
- Ability to consistently meet deadlines and complete time-sensitive tests as specified.
- Ability to work efficiently and effectively while prioritizing tasks.
- Must wear proper PPE and use good judgment regarding personal and others’ safety.
Nice To Haves
- Food Science degree or similar.
Responsibilities
- Pick up samples from various worksites and return them to the laboratory, ensuring proper storage and packaging during transport and in the lab.
- Assist with laboratory tests, including preparing raw ingredients, juices, and finished products for microbiological testing and preparing environmental swabs.
- Enter data and manually record product name, lot numbers, pH, and Brix for tested products.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness of laboratory equipment and inventory.
- Comply with safety procedures and regulations.
- Occasionally assist Quality Technicians on the production line as needed.
