About The Position

The Lab Associate will be responsible for performing and documenting laboratory procedures with accuracy, consistency, and timeliness in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines. This role requires good judgment in assessing procedure progress and results, and the ability to identify and escalate abnormal findings or potential quality control failures to senior lab personnel. The associate will also be involved in equipment calibration and maintenance, assisting in the review and development of laboratory procedures, and identifying process improvements. Additionally, the role includes managing supply inventory, participating in continuing education, collecting biological samples (potentially including phlebotomy), preparing raw materials for downstream processes, and completing special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Associate's Degree Required (or equivalent).
1+ years of experience in a clinical laboratory operating under GLP and/or CLIA guidelines or equivalent combination of education, training and experience preferred.
Laboratory procedures.
GLP/CLIA guidelines.
SOP compliance.
Equipment calibration.
Phlebotomy.

Reagent manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Complete and prepare documentation in compliance with regulatory and corporate guidelines.
Perform and document all laboratory procedures with accuracy, consistency and timeliness in accordance with current standard operating procedures (SOPs) and regulatory guidelines.
Exercise good judgment in assessing whether procedure is proceeding according to expectations and that the results are within acceptable tolerances.
Identify abnormal progress of procedures, potential QC failures, or otherwise unusual results and escalate to senior lab personnel immediately.
Perform routine calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment as assigned.
Assist in the review and development of laboratory procedures and techniques.
Identify process improvements to increase data quality, lower costs or reduce turnaround times.
Assist in the implementation of changes as assigned.
Notify inventory staff of supply shortages.
Participate in continuing education through self-study, attending training sessions and off-site lectures and meetings.
Participates in the collection of biological samples.
May be expected to perform phlebotomy duties.
Evaluates and solves problems related to the collection and processing of specimens.
Prepare and stage raw materials to be used in downstream processes.
Completes special projects, when assigned.
