This non-licensed position is accountable for assisting with general support for the laboratory, following all applicable policies and procedures. The role involves preparing and organizing samples, labeling, handling, processing, and storing specimens. The Lab Associate II is responsible for identifying and resolving sample problems, preparing testing equipment, and assisting with preventive maintenance. They also prepare pre-analytical reagents and controls, maintain accurate records, and manage inventory of consumables. This role includes sorting and accessioning incoming specimens, performing data entry, tallying workload data, and assisting with quality control procedures. The associate will also assist licensed personnel with validation verifications and R&D activities, train other Lab Associates, and support training programs. They are expected to take initiative in improving efficiency, provide feedback, and demonstrate leadership through accountability and collaboration. Additionally, the role involves answering phones, maintaining client confidentiality, ensuring laboratory cleanliness, and complying with health and safety policies, including the use of personal protective equipment.
