About The Position

Join our Main Outpatient Lab team and make a direct impact on patient care. As a Lab Associate II, you will perform phlebotomy, process specimens, coordinate laboratory testing, and provide exceptional service to patients in a fast-paced outpatient environment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• <2 years experience
• No Supervisor Experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Phlebotomy certification

Nice To Haves

• 1-3 years of laboratory, phlebotomy, specimen processing, or healthcare experience preferred.
• Experience in a hospital, clinic, or laboratory setting.
• Familiarity with Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) and EMRs.
• Pediatric phlebotomy experience preferred.
• Strong communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Associate's Degree
• 2-5 years experience
• < 2 years Supervisor Experience

Responsibilities

• Perform blood collections on pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
• Process, label, and prepare specimens for testing.
• Coordinate laboratory testing and maintain accurate patient records.
• Utilize laboratory information systems and electronic medical records.
• Deliver excellent customer service while supporting daily laboratory operations.
• Interpret physician orders and order tests in appropriate system.
• Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity. May work in outpatient lab, in physician office, or off campus patient service center.
• Sort and process specimens received by the laboratory and proficiently handle all specimens received in the lab.
• Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
• May perform registration, inventory maintenance, and other duties as assigned.
