About The Position

BJC's Parkland Health Center has a full-time Lab Associate I opportunity. This position focuses on the phlebotomy service to include various opportunities of experiences for inpatient, outpatient, and emergency department lab test draws. The laboratory provides outpatient diagnostic lab services as ordered by the physician, who is working to provide quality treatment for the patients condition.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• No Experience
• No Supervisor Experience
• Basic Life Support (BLS)
• Phlebotomy

Nice To Haves

• <2 years experience
• < 2 years supervisor experience

Responsibilities

• Performs non-blood and blood specimen collection, specimen handling/routine processing and clerical duties associated with specimen collection.
• Perform phlebotomy, positive patient identification, and positive patient interaction, proper collection and specimen integrity.
• Coordinates a simultaneous series of tasks accurately, including STAT orders and fluctuation in workload, prioritizing work to complete within scheduled hours and established turnaround times.
• Interacts with lab, clinical and other ancillary departments.
