About The Position

A lab assistant is responsible for assisting the Instructors. This role involves providing technical knowledge to students in completing shop projects and aiding them in accomplishing hands-on projects to gain required motor skills. The position requires proper monitoring of all equipment, supplies, and tools to ensure student safety. The majority of time is spent in an education environment, with an 8-hour workday, and requires adherence to appropriate safety measures, including exposure to standard industry chemicals.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED
Ability to assist students of various ages and diverse backgrounds
Able to work productively and communicate effectively with students and new employees
Strong oral and written communication skills
Excellent customer service skills
Must be able to deal responsibly with confidential information
Must be personable, energetic and have a customer service orientation
Must be a self-motivator
Must be able to work alone or with a team
Proper monitoring of all equipment, supplies and tools to ensure the safety of the students

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in related field preferred

Responsibilities

Assist the instructors in the shop environment only
