The Lab Assistant will be responsible for drawing blood, collecting specimens, and running EKGs on patients. They will also process these specimens, including accessioning in the LIS, and organize, check off, and deliver laboratory reports. Additional duties include filing reports and requisitions, restocking and cleaning laboratory areas, answering the phone and assisting at the front window, and performing other duties as needed. By performing these functions, the Lab Assistant will help maintain a smooth workflow for the laboratory technologists. Job responsibilities and performance of procedures must comply with Section 652.450 of the Nevada Administrative Code, Bureau of Licensure and Certification, Nevada State Division of Health. The employee must be licensed or eligible for licensure as a Laboratory Assistant in the State of Nevada.
