About The Position

The Laboratory Assistant works as a phlebotomist and a specimen processor. This position handles samples coming into the laboratory and also samples that need to be sent out to a reference lab. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

Current phlebotomy certification is desirable.

Responsibilities

Assist in collecting samples, checking in patients, and other phlebotomy area duties.
Take telephone messages and responds appropriately. Deliver, telephone, or fax reports.
Process and prepare in-coming samples, shipping of samples, add-ons, and storage.
Package samples for pick by our reference laboratory.
Scan and maintain files of appropriate laboratory documents.
Be proficient in working with appropriate computer applications.
