Lab Assistant - FT, Nights
About The Position
Newberry Health is seeking a Lab Assistant to join their team. Located in beautiful Newberry County, SC, Newberry Health is a 90-bed, acute care, independent, not-for-profit hospital recognized with the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval. The Lab Assistant performs phlebotomy procedures on both inpatients and outpatients in a timely manner. This role involves collecting blood samples from patients required for the performance of laboratory tests as requested by the physician with the least possible discomfort to the patient. The lab assistant is also responsible for supporting the lab staff with various functions.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Successful completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program, or previous training and experience to perform phlebotomy
Nice To Haves
- One-year prior experience preferred
- Phlebotomy certification preferred
