About The Position

The Lab Assistant at CentraCare's Southway Clinic is a support position within the laboratory setting. This role is suitable for students, individuals with patient care backgrounds, and those with some lab experience. The position involves working across Southway Lab, Sartell Lab, and Northway Lab, supporting the community by collecting blood samples, performing low complexity testing, and setting up cultures, while fostering trust and confidence with patients.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Knowledge of medical terminology and basic computer skills

Nice To Haves

• Prefer graduate from or in the process of pursing a phlebotomy certificate from an accredited laboratory program or medical -related program

Responsibilities

• Collect blood samples from the patient
• Create an atmosphere of trust and confidence with patients
• Perform low complexity testing and culture set-up
