Pay Range: $16.80 - $23.10 Position Summary: This is a Full-Time Position at 40 per week on a flexible, daytime schedule. The responsibilities of this position are to maintain the animal facility at Bio-Techne, comfort handling rodents is required. Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • This position requires a high school diploma or GED, AA degree or equivalent with a minimum of 2 to 4 years’ experience with a high school diploma, or 0 to 2 years with an AA or a BS degree.
  • Attention to detail, organization, are required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel are required.
  • Computer entry and/or typing skills are desirable.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment, multi-task, and have good communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of laboratory equipment
  • Ability to work with animals (mouse, rat).
  • Adhere to IACUUC rules for animal care.
  • Skills pertaining to immunization of rodents.
  • Knowledge of sterile technique.
  • Knowledge of safety procedures and practices.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Ability to act independently on routine assignments or projects.
  • Ability to plan, organize and multi-task to complete assignments in an efficient manner.
  • Ability to communicate professionally, both oral and written.
  • Excellent record keeping skills necessary.
  • Ability to pay attention to details and perform at a high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and with a team.
  • Ability to work hours including weekend and holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the welfare and immunization of all rodents that are used within R & D Systems.
  • General lab duties including filter sterilizing aliquoting and labeling samples.
  • General lab duties including stocking and organizing supplies and materials and preparing reagents.
  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Handbook and follows guidelines regarding safety as outlined in the AWAIR, Chemical Hygiene and Exposure Control manuals in accordance to the job.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
