About The Position

The Quality Laboratory Assistant is responsible for coordinating the overall efficiency of the lab, review and organization of all quality paperwork, and management and organization of all quality retains and customer samples.

Requirements

  • Must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include Distance vision, Color Vision, Peripheral vision, and Depth perception.
  • Frequently required to sit, talk or hear, use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, sort, file, and log daily QA paperwork from lab techs, machine operators, and line supervisors, noting any missing documentation.
  • Ship retain samples to customers at required frequencies, and ship micro samples and additional biological samples for the lab or blending department.
  • Log daily production folders and send them to the QA Manager for review within 7 days, as required by audits.
  • Track, review, and log the receipt of all Master Sanitation documents for the plant to ensure audit readiness.
  • Scan and log all ingredient Certificates of Analysis (COA) into the shared drive, and maintain COAs for lab equipment and calibration records.
  • Track all changes needed for the QA work aid book.
  • Prepare for audits, complaint reports, and gather supporting documentation.
  • Review and approve Production Folders/LCRs.
  • Coordinate ordering and organizing lab supplies, focusing on continuous improvement in ordering systems, working with vendors to reduce costs, and overall lab organization.
  • Manage the collection and organization of internal and external retains.
  • Log and coordinate Micro sampling setup for Micro Technicians.
  • Log the current location of lab equipment and maintain the PM schedule in collaboration with the Quality Manager.
  • Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
