About The Position

Labcorp is seeking a Lab Assistant to join its team in Phoenix, Arizona. The role supports clinical laboratory operations by receiving, sorting, and preparing specimens, entering specimen and patient information, maintaining equipment and supplies, and following procedures to ensure safety and quality. The position requires working in a fast-paced production environment and meeting established turnaround times. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 3:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., with overtime required based on business needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED equivalent.
At least one year of experience in a production, assembly, manufacturing, warehouse, or similar production environment.
Comfort handling biological specimens.
Ability to accurately identify specimens.
Basic computer knowledge and data-entry skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize and multitask.
Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment and meet established turnaround times.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Ability to pass a standardized color blindness test.

Current or prior Labcorp experience.

Responsibilities

Receive and sort clinical laboratory specimens.
Prepare specimens for testing and analysis.
Scan and/or enter specimen and patient information.
Ensure laboratory equipment is working properly and perform minor instrumentation maintenance.
Troubleshoot specimen-related issues.
Replenish test bench supplies as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
Complete record logs and other administrative duties as requested.
Follow Standard Operating Procedures to ensure safety and quality standards.
