We are currently seeking a Full-Time Lab Assistant to join our team in Port Washington, NY. The ideal Lab Assistant candidate will be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, can manage multitask and be able to have keen attention to detail.

Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to stand for long periods of time and perform repetitive tasks
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Able to work around hazardous chemicals, allergenic antigens and medically qualified to use a respirator and hearing protection without restriction

Responsibilities

Cleaning/Sterilization of flasks, graduates, syringes, stoppers/droppers, filling set-ups, in addition to filtering rubber detergent used in cleaning of stoppers, routine replacement of tubing, and setting up/repair of new/existing glassware as per related manufacturing SOPs.
Vial wash for fill, prepare vial pans by rinsing with W.F.I., label all Vial Pans with pertinent product information, and complete relevant documentation (vial wash log, dry heat oven log, etc.) as per relevant SOPs
Media Prep for sterility testing of products as per related manufacturing SOP’s including activities such as; complete relevant batch paperwork, Daily Use of Autoclave to sterilize media for QC Biology Use, Labelling of Sterilized Media Tubes with pertinent product information, wash, store and maintain tubes in media prep room
Cross-trained to tray Filled Stock Vials with product identity tags into plastic grey trays after sterile filling operations and store in quarantine cooler.
Prep work for sterilization (tape, wrapping, indicators, sealing stopper/dropper bags, maintenance of logbooks)
Loading Dry Heat Oven with Vials (check work/fill-in logbook)
Loading Vacuum Oven (stoppers/droppers/fill-in logbook)
Change Oven Charts
Perform SAP related duties COR6N, Goods Movement transactions (e.g. on Seals, Stoppers, Droppers and Vials)
Individual must be able to accomplish each assignment listed above.
Knowledge of all related manufacturing SOP’s is required
Required to attend periodic cGMP/SOP training sessions as well as company meetings.
