About The Position

Responsible for general laboratory maintenance to provide support for the clinical and/or anatomical diagnostic services. This includes maintaining supplies, receiving stock, performing preventive maintenance, general cleaning, preparing solutions, labeling and filing documents, and general processing duties including triaging, sample tracking, and billing. The role also involves sorting, setting in order, and sustaining organization of specimen/document drop-off and receipt via runners or pneumatic tube stations. Additional responsibilities include performing other duties as assigned, complying with all policies and standards, and abiding by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for patients.

Requirements

• High School Equivalent / GED (Required)
• Organized, accurate and thorough. (Required proficiency)
• High level understanding of mechanical and electrical equipment including, but not limited to water filtration systems, copy/fax machines, laboratory equipment maintenance, and pneumatic tube systems operations (Required proficiency)
• General computer skills including Word and Excel. (Required proficiency)

Nice To Haves

• A general science background (Preferred)
• Prior experience in a laboratory (Preferred)
• Familiarity with laboratory techniques and procedures (Preferred proficiency)
