About The Position
The Lab Assistant performs sample processing and exempt screening and monitoring tests in accordance with CMS (CLIA '88), OSHA, and other applicable regulations and established standards. At applicable entities, the role performs venipunctures and obtains and prepares blood specimens in accordance with Piedmont policies and procedures. The Lab Assistant also assists technical staff with non-clinical tasks.
Requirements
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- No work experience required.
- Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT) is listed under Licenses and Certifications as preferred; phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA, or an equivalent agency is preferred.
Nice To Haves
- One year of experience as a phlebotomist.
- Experience performing EKGs.
- Experience working in a healthcare or clinical laboratory setting.
- Phlebotomy certification through ASCP, ASPT, NCA, or an equivalent agency.
