Reporting to the Director of Accessibility Services, the Lab Assistant/Proctor supports the mission of the Accessibility Services office by ensuring equitable access to academic testing for students with approved accommodations. This position serves students across both the Elizabethton and Blountville campuses, rotating between locations as needed to provide consistent testing support and student assistance. The primary responsibilities of this position include administering and proctoring accommodated examinations in accordance with approved disability accommodations while maintaining the integrity, security, and confidentiality of the testing process. The Lab Assistant/Proctor plays an important role in creating a professional, accessible, and distraction-reduced testing environment that promotes student success and complies with institutional policies, federal and state regulations, and accessibility best practices. In addition to testing responsibilities, this position provides support through mentoring focused on time management, study strategies, and connecting students with appropriate campus resources. The Lab Assistant/Proctor also assists with the operation of the Accessibility Services office by maintaining accurate records, supporting daily administrative functions, managing testing lab environments, and assistive technology resources and, and contributing to departmental initiatives and student success programs.
