Lab Assistant, Physics, SC1PHYSCSTEM (SP26) Student Worker Eligibility: Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester. Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived. If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Assist in physics labs to set up/tear down experiments and the storage of equipment. Assist supervisor in maintaining physics labs and prep room. Determine daily lab set ups and tear downs base on instructor lab timing forms. Pick experiment equipment based on experiment lists and lab to be set up. Help maintain inventory and check equipment general condition and recommend replacement. General clean up of lab and prep areas including organization of the prep room demonstration and equipment storage shelves. Other miscellaneous tasks and duties as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications: Education High school diploma or equivalent. Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester. Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. Experience Licenses and Certifications COD Training Compliance Training Working Conditions: Must be able to lift 30lbs Must be able to reach high areas via a ladder Must be able to set up and tear down physics experiments including gathering all equipment used and/or returning it to its storage area. This student position does not require pre-employment testing. Must be available in both AM and PM depending on the lab to be set up/torn down and if needed instructor assistance.
