About The Position

Computer and Information Technologies Lab Asst, SC4CITLBASTCIT (SP26) Student Worker Eligibility: Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester. Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived. If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Assist with CIT lab equipment preparation, setup, and maintenance for all CIT classes. Provide support during open lab sessions, ensuring a productive and organized environment. Perform software updates and system upgrades. across lab workstations. Restore or replace corrupted system images. Replace damaged hardware components. Verify and validate lab system activations and configurations. Conduct proof-of-concept testing using lab equipment to evaluate functionality and performance. Assist students with program-related technical needs. Qualifications: Education Passing grade of B or higher for CIT-1111 and CIT-1121 required. High school diploma or equivalent. Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours for Fall/Spring semester or 1 credit hour for Summer semester. Cumulative GPA of 2.0 or above. If a first semester student, GPA requirement is waived. If a Student qualifies for Federal Work Study, the Student will be hired as a Federal Work Study employee to utilize these funds. Experience Experience working with networking equipment PC, Servers, Routers and Switches preferred. PC repair experience, and utilization of associated diagnostic tools for fault isolation preferred. Licenses and Certifications COD Training Compliance Training Working Conditions: EQUIPMENT AND MACHINES USED: Windows OS, PC, Servers, Cisco IOS, Routers, Switches and wireless technology. WORKING CONDITIONS: Able to work independently with minimal guidance. Able to research, troubleshoot and solve basic software hardware issues. Able to execute, follow, evaluate and document lab instructions. This student position will require pre-employment background testing.
