About The Position

The laboratory assistant is responsible for biological (e.g. blood, urine) specimen receipt, identification verification, processing and storage. The laboratory assistant is also responsible for performing a variety of clerical, pre-analytic processing, and other laboratory duties that include maintaining supply inventory, filing, stocking, receiving shipments, and cleaning. The laboratory assistant works with various computer information systems on a daily basis. This is a 4-month full time temporary position to train on the job to gain the phlebotomy skills needed to apply for the Inpatient Phlebotomist - Vascular Access Technician position. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position; Also, this position DOES NOT participate in the F-1 STEM OPT extension program.
