About The Position
New England Dermatology & Laser Center has been providing dermatology care to the greater Springfield community for over 70 years. We are growing and looking for an experienced Lab Assistant, Pathology with a conscientious work ethic to join our busy specialty practice laboratory. The lab assistant for pathology is responsible for performing laboratory support duties including: accessioning incoming specimens, maintaining laboratory and patient records, filing, scanning and assisting laboratory staff and pathologists as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED plus additional specialized training in laboratory processes required.
- CPR Certification preferred.
- 1-3 years prior work experience in a pathology laboratory, dermatology, customer service or medical office experience preferred.
- Professional, courteous, flexible, team player who works well independently and as part of a team.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, efficiency, initiative, conscientious work ethics, good judgment & follow-through.
- Constant monitoring of workflow.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and troubleshoot.
- Proficiency with practice management, laboratory, EHR and Microsoft Office software programs.
- Knowledge of instrument cleaning/sterilization and care.
